Allevia is a third sector organisation. It is an incorporated Association (Inc. No. Y0254103), has charitable status and is a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR). It has financial members, is governed by a Board of Directors, and has its own registered Constitution.

Allevia offers quality personalised services to people with a disability, including children, young people, and adults. Since 1978, we have provided disability support services and assisted many people to achieve lifestyles of their choice in the community. Our 37 years of experience and our commitment to personalised, quality services, along with a deep sense of social justice and human rights, has underpinned our ability to help people with severe disadvantage find some stability and satisfaction in their lives.

Allevia was initially established to provide for the needs of the community through a Toy Library and an Occasional Care service. The Association has expanded over the past 26 years to now offer a broad range of services to adults, children, families, and other community service organisations.
